Simple bathroom items to take self-care to the next level can have a quick and ongoing impact. Self-care often brings to mind candles and bubble baths. But, there are several quick and easy ways to address self-care when taking a bubble bath is not an option.

These self-care items can be added to the bathroom whether you share a bathroom with your family or have your own. However, some items may want to be kept out of reach for safety reasons and to keep them special for your self-care.

Self-Care and the Bathroom

Self-care can easily be added to the bathroom because it is an opportunity for a few minutes alone behind a closed door. Even if you have small children or a child with emotional disabilities, taking a few minutes throughout the day to use the bathroom is essential.

However, there have definitely been times when even using the bathroom for short periods of time for the basic necessities was a challenge. I hope that if you are in one of these seasons, that these ideas and items can support you for quick uses during the day. In the evenings, having these items on hand can also help wind down after a stressful day.

Self-Care Items to Add to Your Bathroom

Since many of the activities done in the bathroom are already geared to self-care, this is a great place to start. From washing your hand to brushing your teeth or taking a shower – a few additions can take your self care to the next level.

Aromatherapy

You can add aromatherapy to several bathroom items and reap the benefits.

Need a boost of energy? Try a whiff of peppermint or citrus before leaving the bathroom.

Need an infusion of calm? Try some lavender or a specific stress-relieving oil blend.

Hand Soap with Aromatherapy

Since you will be washing your hands when visiting the bathroom, this is a great place to start.

This spray bottle has a long, “continuous†spray. My older children and I each have one for our morning hair routines. A quick spray or two helps get rid of bedhead and also activates curls and waves. A pretty cup in the bathroom will encourage you to Increase your water intake. I like to keep a pretty tea cup in my bathroom. After washing my hands I take a few sips of water. It also helps after brushing my teeth.

Since you will be visiting the bathroom throughout the day, it is a perfect place to post a few affirmation cards. For example, you could put one on the mirror or inside a drawer.
